Stealth
I created something very tailored and polished, but it's falling apart at the seams. The forced presentation of a certain identity can feel like that. The pressure of keeping up a lie. Pre-coming out can feel like this too.
For this specific piece, the choice to be stealth was due to a safety issue. Everyday you walk into work and wonder, Am I Safe Here? That can have a profound effect on your psyche
I think this is my most cohesive piece. I wanted a business ‘badass’ vibe. Brief case, pearls and big sun glasses. These pants are made with the same phalloplasty inspired pattern! I decided to have all the frayed edges on the outside to illustrate the stress that hiding our identity can have some of us.
