NYFW Eye Ball Pants- Be Not Afraid

Want a chance to own something off a runway? These pants are one of a kind and will never be made again. 

The pants are made using 10 different pieces of fabric, all with flat french seams. The fabric is soft and floaty (its made out of a curtain)

Full elastic band in the back, two large pockets and 5 gorgeous beaded eyes make this piece comfortable and a show stopper!

Measurements- (2-4 inches of stretch with the elastic waistband)

Can fit up to a -Waist -37 Hips- 40

Comfortably fits folks down to a 28 waist

Artist Statements:

I have always felt eyes on me. Watching me. Judging me. Assessing me. I often walk into rooms and have no idea what gender people assign to me. This can feel dangerous, liberating or (for me) just plain annoying. I worked hard to get to this point in my transition. Yet the eyes are still on me. They will always be on me. I decided it was time to give them something proper to look at. These beaded eyes feel protective and familiar. Like a trans friend who can validate your experience and emotions with just one look.

Each leg of the pants has 5 pieces. When I was creating the pattern I drew inspiration from phalloplasty scars. Two wonderful trans men from Westbrook sent me entire online folders with photos of their phalloplasty journeys. Sometimes there are scars on the thighs from skin grafts. They take the skin in a rectangle shape and it wraps slightly around the thighs. I tried to mimic the scar shape in the seams of the pants.

These pants walked at NYFW, NHFW and at the largest halloween ball in Maine! They have also spent the last month at the public art installation at the Equality Community Center.
