Want a chance to own something off a runway? This outfit is one of a kind and will never be made again.
This outfit is made from a soft silk type material (I thrifted the fabric) It has a beautiful shine and a breathable texture. Hand beaded across the front of the shirt is the Creation of Adam each hand took me about 4-6 hours to bead. I tied off every three beads and double secured the knots so that the piece can last a long time.
There are hidden snaps to close the shirt and the sleeves are made with a super soft white dotted lace.
The skirt has a full elastic waist and long ruffles of white chiffon on each side.
Shirt- Size XS (any bust under 30 is good, 26-28 is best)
Skirt- The full elastic means it can fit most sizes. It fits comfortable on a 30 inch waist and can go up to 50 inches with ease. The skirt is light so it won't fall down
Artist Statement
This is my favorite piece in the whole collection. Each hand took me 4-6 hours to complete. It was a grueling experience and I almost gave up a few different times. You think drawing hands is hard? Try beading them! Also…what was Michelangelo thinking with that finger placement?!?!
Including this iconic work as a set of top surgery scars felt natural. There are many people who believe that gender affirming surgery is mutilation. I am hoping some of those people see this piece and begin to understand the beauty of it instead.
A few of the phrases that used to weigh heavy on my heart are “How dare you play God.”, “What you have done to your body is a sin and disrespectful to God and his plan.”, “God created you in his image” “You are poisoning/mutilating your body”.
